Timber Cove was where many of the astronauts lived with their wives in swanky modern houses; many were neighbours to each other. Whenever an accident occurred at the Kennedy Space Center a black car was sent to the home of the astronaut involved. The wives came to dread this black car, waiting to see which house it would stop outside.
