I don’t know all that much about war
I don’t know what we’re fighting for
All the general say we have to stay
But I think we should run away
And so I’m saying and not under my breath
What we’re talking about is sand and death
Ain’t no oil ain’t no mines to raid
Ain’t no plunder no money to be made
And my master doesn’t want us over there
I’ve got better wars in mind elsewhere
And so I’ll say it with the air of bad breath
What we’re talking about is sand and death
Bring the boys back home so they say
Get them ready to fight another day
Leave the battles to be lost by the Kurds
It don’t matter if we go back on our words
So I’ll be saying it with my final breath
What we’re talking about is sand and death
This album is raw and rough around the edges, but it is full of very strong songs that have extremely singable melodies that have been stuck in my head for days. This is an album that gets better with each repeat b-funk

Father John Misty is so good to listen to when I want to relax. My cat used to seem to like the music too, and we would both chill and listen to the FJM vinyls I own. This album on bandcamp was a nice FJM treat. Michelle May
