about
Wollongong-via-Melbourne two-piece Cry Club are back with their third single ‘Two Hearts.’ Guitarist Jonathon Tooke summarises: “‘Two Hearts’ is the closest thing we’ve got to a love song – well, complicated, sucky love.” Co-written between vocalist Heather Riley and Tooke, ‘Two Hearts’ lyricism contain dual intentions.
Just like its predecessor, the consent anthem ‘DFTM’, this track was produced by Gab Strum. “He could see all the missing pieces of this sparkly pop puzzle,” says Riley of their collaborative effort. “I think every song we have is always going to sit in a different part of the pop to noise spectrum, so finding out how to thread that as a production is always a fun challenge,” adds Tooke.
lyrics
Two hearts, so far apart, sitting in the same car
Avoiding awkward conversation.
Two close to what could have been, we’re breathing each other in,
I can taste this mistake we’re making.
And all my friends think I’m crazy,
But I’m just crazy about you,
You...
Two hearts, one fantasy: someone who’s good for me,
You missed the mark but I can ignore it.
I gave you so much of me, you still wanted more from me,
You always left me running on empty.
And all my friends think I’m crazy,
But I’m just crazy about you.
And I don’t want to want this but I
I’m so tired of doing this alone,
I’ve been trying too hard to take you home, alone.
You’ve been taking up to much of my time,
I’m trying too hard to make you mine, all mine.
Two hearts may meet again, could I even handle it?
Would it match up to what’s in my mind?
Relive that night again, but rearrange it:
Remove the point where we crossed that line.
And all my friends think I’m crazy,
But I’m just crazy about you,
And I don’t want to want this but I
I’m so tired of doing this alone,
I’ve been trying too hard to take you home, alone.
You’ve been taking up to much of my time,
I’m trying too hard to make you mine, all mine.
All mine, mine, all mine.

Every once in awhile you come across music so good it's timeless. And that once in awhile is like finding a 13th floor in a hotel. I'd gladly book room 25. enterzainment
