about
Curren$y came to Chicago in June of 2009 for that month's edition of Dimes and Dozens. His Closed Session was actually our first, and took place on a slow-paced Saturday night. We went through a batch of Tony Baines' production before he settled on what was to be "Rapper Weed". Curren$y was the only person at the studio besides RTC, Virgil, and Michael Kolar. He didn't want anyone else coming in, and that's kind of what inspired the Closed Sessions name. We stayed out of his way, and he recorded the full song in about 2-3 hours. It's the perfect start to the EP as well.
This by far the illest one.. Westside been on a running streak of his own with all the albums finished this year alone… We are definitely living in a time where history is being made. Big ups to Gunn, let’s give this mf his flowers 💐 a5vpjams
