When I was very young, like 5 years old, I used to watch old French movies with my father almost every day. That triggered me into French culture, French images & music. I stayed in my room for years, out of the real world. 'The Blue Bird' ('Aoi Tori' is the Japanese name) is a play written by Maurice Maeterlinck in 1905 for the Moscow Art Theater. The piece tells the story of a brother and sister who help a little girl whose illness can only be cured by the magical Blue Bird of Happiness. 'The Blue Bird' was the constant bedtime story all throughout my childhood and onwards. The theme is about looking for happiness, eternity, Eden, things that barely exist in this world. But then, when you find happiness, it is always just next to you. We search the whole world for happiness only to realize it has always been just by our side. 'The Blue Bird', 'The Snow Queen', and even Serge Gainsbourg's 'Anna': they all tell the same tale.
