Never before have I heard deep, dark synth wave mixed in such a smooth chilled-out way.
The album flows beautifully, creating a melancholic, isolated atmosphere.

The old vinyl of X stares at me as I listen to this new collection. Pulsing beats return with a few added singles, and a rollup of the older listing. Tracks from the apparently-defunct EMOTIONS EP also feature here, but without vocals--I miss Ruta's singing(can we get it back?). In any case, X's Definitive Collection is probably the most representative cross-cut of ALEX in the core days of New-Retrowave, well worth the price--unless ALEX was good enough to give it to you for free.
