about
This is a single written by Rob Kolar & Nick Rucker (former Lemon Sun drummer). All instruments and parts were written and recorded by the two gents in Lemon Sun's rehearsal space, downtown Los Angeles. The lyrics, written by Kolar, are influenced by Graham Hancock's book, Supernatural, which deals with parallel universes, entering other dimensions of consciousness, ayahuasca, and other shamanic practices.
lyrics
TOUCH THE LIGHTNING
Gm C
Hands of destruction
Gm C
Hold me by the collar
A# Dm Gm
I take a sip to slip away
Gm C
The spell of illusion
Gm C
looks like how I want it
A# Dm Gm
But when I reach there's nothing there
Gm C Gm C
The skies are calling
A# Dm Gm
I want to touch the lightning
Gm C Gm C
And I am falling
A# Dm Gm
Into the outer space
VERSE (same chords as 1st verse & chorus)
Stir from submission
Instinctive intermission
A pause to recollect myself
Cheap entertainment
Pass on that temptation
I'll toss it all into the wind
Gm C Gm C
The skies are calling
A# Dm Gm
I want to touch the lightning
Gm C Gm C
And I am falling
A# Dm Gm
Into the outer space
F C Gm
Into the outer space
F C Gm
Into the outer space
BRIDGE
Gm A# C D#
Look up at the stars, wonder who we are
Gm A# C D#
We know this place isn't what it seems
(We're reaching out, from the past
Walls of sand, never last
Into the sky, Into the breeze
Without restraint I feel the peace) < counter melody
Gm C Gm C
The skies are calling
A# Dm Gm
I want to touch the lightning
Gm C Gm C
And I am falling
A# Dm Gm
Into the outer space
