It came in on time but in an ugly color (hot pink) no offense. But still an awesome piece

2 years after the release of their debut LP, It’s Our Time, the 5 piece melodic hardcore and pop-punk band Four Year Strong put out their innovative and ear-grabbing masterpiece of an album-- Rise or Die Trying. Having never previously listened to this band, I was pleasantly surprised with what I was presented. This album brings something astonishingly new to the table by engendering a perfect amalgamation of pop-punk and melodic hardcore. The first track, “The Take Over”, kicks things off with a gradual and grandiose buildup that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The first four songs of the album create a seamless flow and smooth transitions by bleeding into each other. The instrumental and musical complexity of this album is astonishing. Front men Alan Day and Dan O’Connor have composed some rather intricate and melody-driven guitar riffs-- all while expertly utilizing over-lapping and polyphonic vocal melodies. The subtle, yet melodic, synth lines impeccably fuse together with the rest of the composition. The upbeat and catchy choruses are ubiquitous and will be stuck in your head for weeks. Another distinctive element of Four Year Strong’s musical style is their incorporation of hardcore screams and heavy instrumental breakdowns. Some of these particular hardcore elements seem unnecessary and contrived in tracks such as, “Prepare to Be Digitally Manipulated” and “If He’s Here, Who’s Runnin’ Hell?” but work rather well in songs like, “Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die” and “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Hell.” Most of the tracks on this album are incredible, but only a few really standout such as: “Bada Bing! Wit’ a Pipe!”, “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Hell”, “Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die”, and “Maniac (R.O.D.).” Overall, Four Year Strong’s Rise or Die Trying perfectly showcases how the juxtaposition of pop-punk and melodic hardcore can mesh together so well, creating the quintessential “easycore” album. I give the album a 5/5 rating.

Ordered Feb 2022, got the Violet variant out of 1000. This is one of my top 10 favorite albums. I have a 180g 2nd press, a 10-year X edition, and a 2021 Neon Green. This is probably a thinner grade than my 2nd Press but you can’t pass up this album artwork for this price!

This is, in my opinion, four year strong's best ablum. It delivers their signature sound while advancing from "it's our time". Although their musical style has changed since composing "rise or die trying", this album is what put the band on the map, and it is a must have for FYS fans everywhere

Primo album della band Four Year Strong, una continua escalation di canzoni stupende. Riff fantastici i ritmi punk inconfondibili rendono unici i Four Year Strong! Un must per tutti i loro fan. Unica pecca.. il cofanetto aveva un graffio. Ma il CD era integro.

I've had this album on CD for quite a while and always loved it, but the album has only just came alive after buying the vinyl, everything is so much more clear. The vinyl was also one of the 500 Limited Edition versions, bargain for £12.99

    「enemy of the world」 よりこちらのアルバムのほうが個人的には好きです。

    捨て曲が少ないです。
