    Little Dragon is an ensemble meant for listeners like myself who love experimental works but with a popish flare added in. Great composition work, incredible vocals, the whole nine. This titular album has a lot of jazz influence, which is rare for an electronica band. Tons of risk taking here. I'd liken this album to a cup of black coffee. It's bold & wakes you up. Later albums tend to mellow out considerably, which is fine, but I think this one's the most danceable.

    About a month ago a friend asked if I'd heard of this group and told me to check them out. I watched a couple of their videos on youtube, "Twice" and "Test," and immediately knew that I had to pick up their album. Admittedly, Electronica isn't my usual taste (I'm a fan of Erykah, Kelis, RES, Sy Smith, Omar, Macy, Prince), but I am open-minded when it comes to music - and I'm sure glad I am! Little Dragon is awesome. I especially fell in love with the lead singer Yukimi. Her voice is SO soulful and beautiful. While her music is definitely a different genre, this woman has as much soul in her voice as Erykah Badu.

    I was looking for a change in my music collection, looking to expand what I listen to, and this is EXCELLENT! I enjoy the entire CD from start to finish. I've told others about Little Dragon and they like them too. It's something hypnotizing about her voice. The lyrics are also great.

    Fave tracks:
    * Twice
    * Test
    * Scribbled Paper
    * Constant Surprises
    * No Love
    * Stormy Weather

    I HIGHLY recommend this CD to those who like soul, and are open to electronica/trip-hop.

    I listened to this on Youtube before purchasing, and knew in advance that I would like most of the songs. This particular CD is a little bit "easy listening jazz," which is not so much my thing, but certain songs like "After the Rain" and "Twice" really won me over.

    Interesting fusion of a number of styles, from blues to jazz to pop and electronic. Listen to the previews or find them on YouTube. I liked the songs I heard, and am not disappointed by anything on the CD.

    ...and that's all I can say. I love the tracks and the strange juxtaposition of Yukimi Nagano's soulful vocals. I downloaded it. I also appreciate the online cloud of music that Amazon offers. I can listen to tunes I purchased from Amazon, while I'm online. It saves my musical purchases. Ok.

    This is my favorite band of late, which assuredly does not come often. Just saw them live and danced my ass off. Yukimi's singing style is really, really cool. It's sad and weird how they flew under the radar for many of us for so long...

    Love, love this cd because the beats are infectious and their is much soul in the singer's voice. When I first played the cd, I listened to it several times back to back bobbing my head.

    I got this gem online because it is discontinued where I live. If you like Little Dragon there is no doubt that you will love and appreciate this album. If you've never heard of them I suggest you have a listen on YouTube. I now have all of the 3 albums and they are wonderful. Also my c-d took a long time to get here, but I emailed the company and they were quick to reply. I am pleased with the service and my purchase

    5.0 out of 5 stars Ich liebe Schweden!
    Reviewed in Germany on August 2, 2009
    Das Debütalbum des sympathischen Quartetts aus Schweden ist für mich bereits ein Klassiker.
    Laut Aussagen der Band sei der Sound noch etwas schizophren. Sie verbinden jazzige Klänge, Soul und elektronische Samples und kreiiren so ihren eigenen Sound.
    Der Opener 'Twice' ist der Liebling aller Kritiker, nur ein Piano und Yukimi Naganos Stimme machen ihn zu einer Perle. Weitere Highlights sind die Singles 'Constant Surprises' (hier mutet die Stimme fast einer Erykah Badu an) und 'Test' ' eine fröhliche Nummer, die mit einem Ohrwurmtauglichen Bass daherkommt.
    'Scribbled Paper' und 'Stormy Weather' sind sehr ruhig, perfekt zum Entspannen.

    Es gibt fast keinen Song der aus der Reihe fällt, 'No Love' und 'Turn Left' wirken anfangs etwas langweilig, aber mit der Zeit liebt man das ganze Album.

    5 Sterne für das Debüt, der Nachfolger kommt diesen Sommer.
    Für mich ganz klar KEINE 'Fahrstuhlmusik', es sei denn man mag die Musikrichtung überhaupt nicht.
