Posted by 28 blogs • Download: AmazoniTunes
As momentum builds for Leon Bridges' forthcoming debut, fellow Texan and true believer Gorilla Vs. Bear introduces the newest one: "Some real Sam Cooke-era Soul Stirrers vibes... a tender, beautifully nuanced, vintage doo-wop soul ballad."

Wax Stag - Night Trek Bibio Remix

Posted by 3 blogs • Download: AmazoniTunes
St. Albans-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Rob Lee took seven years to make his new LP (and Dummy Mag album of the week), II. Here, Bibio delivers a fittingly pastoral edit to one its key cuts.

The Weather Station - Way It Is, Way It Could Be

Posted by 13 blogs • Download: AmazoniTunes
Floating over "ebbs and flows of instrumentation" and evoking Joni Mitchell (Turntable Kitchen), singer/songwriter Tamara Lindeman takes us on a road trip through Quebec with her latest.

Grooms - Comb The Feelings Through Your Hair

Posted by 7 blogs • Download: AmazoniTunes
BrooklynVegan is streaming the unexpectedly catchy new album from Grooms. "It's different territory for the band," says BV, "taking things in a spacier, kraut-ier direction while still making room for their distinctive, dissonant guitars."

Inventions - Peregrine The Field Remix

Posted by 5 blogs • Download: AmazoniTunes
This new duo featuring members of Explosions In The Sky and Eluvium has blogs talking this week--that, and some ace new remixes from Leyland Kirby and The Field. The latter turns "Peregrine" into a hypnotic 9-minute techno piece which ISO50 dubs "perfect."
Two album premieres happening right now: Because You Don't Know Russian, where a broad sampling of Russia's electronic artists remix Saint Petersburg duo SBPCh, and the eponymous debut from DC-based songwriter Tomás Pagán Motta.

As for interesting reads, try this Oscar-relevant (but anytime-informative) article about what exactly sound mixing is.

Thanks for listening!
