TORIBIO - Daylight (feat. Sharin) (Original Mix)

Brooklyn's TORIBIO (Stack №430) debuts on Chromeo and A-Trak's Juliet imprint with a house cut featuring his sister Sharin. "I'm struggling to think of the last time (if ever) I've ever heard such pristine, crisp vocals over such rough and tough, almost lo-fi beats," says 5 Magazine. "And the mad thing is, it really works."

Sea Lemon - Stay

Seattle's Sea Lemon (Stack №386) announces her debut LP on Luminelle Recordings. Grotesqualizer calls the lead single "a gentle flight on Madchester-touched shoegaze airlines...viscous and rhythmic at the same time."

Confucius MC, Bastien Keb - Gutters

Posted by 2 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
In their first collaborative album, Confucius MC and producer Bastien Keb cross heady rap with spoken word experimentation. Bandcamp says, "the jazz-adjacent instrumentation is beautifully unhurried, and the vocals are similarly measured—the whole thing has the feel of chatting with two old friends late at night by a crackling fire, leaning in close so you don’t miss a single word."

VOV VOV! - Night Ride

Florence, Italy's VOV VOV make their debut with "Night Ride," a psychedelic organ romp. From their forthcoming EP on Factory Flaws, the band says it reflects "a nighttime journey portrayed through the dream of a little girl conversing with a two-headed monster."

Lotame - heartbeat

The Letter reports on this self-released and scarcely detailed UK electronica project: "There's absolutely no information available about this artist going by the name Lotame but what I can tell you is this: their debut EP keep the joy inside is a simple delight; a downtempo excursion that respectfully picks up the trail of artists like DJ Healer and DJ Python (Stack №378)."

Sharp Pins - With a Girl Like Mine

Posted by 2 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Lifeguard's Kai Slater gives a wider release to Radio DDR, his second album as Sharp Pins (first shared in 2024 on tape). A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed sums it up: "Elements of American jangle-rock—think Shoes, Yellow Pills, etc.—blend with snatches of sounds we can trace back to Brit pioneers, but all that being said, the new album from Sharp Pins stands entirely on its own strengths. Clever, smart, and concise."
GOOD MIX
As a primer for the Good Read below, here's a recent episode of Malibu’s (Stack №385) United in Flames NTS show.
GOOD READ

For Pitchfork, Meaghan Garvey spotlights Malibu's show on NTS Radio:

"And if it’s true, as I’ve been told, that heaven is a place on earth, then I believe it can be accessed through her monthly radio show, the sublime 'United In Flames'."

Thanks for listening!
