Multi-instrumentalist composer and producer Nnamdi Ogbonnaya has been a fixture for years across dozens of projects in Chicago. While regarded locally as a sort-of mayor of the DIY music scene, it's only recently that he's seen wider attention from the likes of NPR, MTV, and A.V. Club, the latter dubbing him "the Midwest’s version of Andre 3000." DROOL, Ogbonnaya's new LP co-released by Father/Daughter and his own label Sooper Records, serves as a proper entry point to his hyperactive sound. A highly fun and collaborative fusion of hip-hop, math, gospel, and jazz.
