  • They Say...

This, by the Crume Brother set of The Soul Stirrers, first surfaced as a single-volume collection on Jewel entitled Heritage Vols. 1 & 2 in 1974. The personnel consists of the late veteran founder J.J. Farley (bass), Arthur Crume (lead and rhythm guitar), Rufus Crume (bass), Eddie Huffman (tenor), and Dillard Crume (lead guitar and the group's arranger/producer). This is fine high-spirited gospel with grit and conviction sung in the old-time way. The booklet gives a handy list of the group's most important albums.
